It's Final
Having talked to (almost) everyone in the league, I've decided it's best to shut down the league this year.
The reasoning is this: most people are upset that Eric would be childish and liquidate his team to another player, whatever his reasoning is. It creates an imbalance that the rest of the league shouldn't have to deal with.
The logical thing would be to reverse the trade, which would require me to manually adjust rosters. This would piss off other league members and cause even more "power abuse" nonsense.
My only other option is to kick out the members of the league causing all the problems (and also the inactive player), but then we would have 8 players, and I'd rather not try to replace people, it just takes too much time and effort. Not to mention what to do with all the residual players.
I'm not sure if I'll do the league again next year, but I'll keep you all updated if I do.
------------------------------------------------------
Since we won't have a playoff or a remaining season, I'll go ahead and hand out my awards here.
Most Improved and Best Sport - Lewis. He was on track to be in the winners bracket for the first time, and took the game seriously. He took my taunts for two years and didn't do much complaining, and came back ready to win.
Best Start - This goes to John. He's the current leader, and deserves credit for picking some good players: namely, Wes Welker and Mike Tolbert.
Probable Winner - This one is hard, because I have to try and project based on future expectations. I've decided that Colby would probably win, based on a solid draft, good pickups, and good trading.
Best Newcomer - This goes to Brandt. He was willing to learn the game and try his best each week, and he was involved in the league.
And there we have it. Y'all enjoy the (real) football season, and hopefully we'll give this another try next year.

I just logged into ESPN to edit my fantasy team for the week and it was nowhere to be found-so I checked my yahoo account which had 3000+ emails since I haven't logged into it in at least a year...anyway, i found this whole stream of comments of outrage over me not playing yada yada...funny thing is I think I did well the first couple of weeks, missed one week because I was out of town, the next week, I logged in Sunday morning and Patrick must have changed my roster because it looked good to me-anyway, did that for a couple of week and I didn't see the need to make any changes (apparently I was on life-support-thanks Patrick)...admittedly, I was paying very little attention so I wouldn't have noticed if changes had been made and my only effort was to check it Sunday morning, but having not received any of the emails I had no idea everyone was so pissed off. I checked my espn account and my email is set to a gmail account, so I'm not sure why all these emails have been going to my yahoo account anyway.
ReplyDeleteSo I guess that I apologize that I didn't notice that my team was being changed because I didn't check my old email account. I did get an email at work from Patrick saying "get your butt in gear" and Patrick is random and weird like that so I had no idea what he was talking about and didn't have time to reply at the moment then never got around to it (possibly a phone call might have solved this weeks ago-but it sounds like I wasn't the only issue anyway)... So if you play next year, good luck, hope some of you are in other leagues-I'd miss it if I wasn't in another. One reason I've lost interest in this league is because I'm doing an auction style draft keeper league for the second year and it's way better than the snake draft head to head format-just in case you guys play next year, I highly recommend it-so this league became an after thought. Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Once again, sorry-if I ever meet any of you, don't hate-Colby and Patrick-I find this all funny since I was really close to transferring to work at your branch and this would have been avoided, seeing how I would have seen both of you almost daily.
Sorry again-enjoy the real football season. Go Niners!
